📊 Understanding Your K4 File
The generated Excel file contains 3 sheets:
Sheet 1: K4 Detaljerad
Every single transaction listed separately. Use this if you want complete transparency.
Sheet 2: K4 Sammanställning ⭐
Transactions grouped by security. This is what you should use for filing - it's cleaner and easier to verify.
Sheet 3: Sammanfattning
Summary totals that go into the K4 form boxes.
What Each Column Means
| Swedish Name | English | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Värdepapper | Security | Stock name with ISIN code |
| Antal | Quantity | How many shares you sold |
| Försäljningspris | Sale price | What you got (in SEK) |
| Omkostnadsbelopp | Acquisition cost | What you paid (in SEK) |
| Vinst/Förlust | Profit/Loss | Sale price minus cost |
🇸🇪 SRU Bundle (Direct Upload)
If you don't want to type each row into the K4 web form, the SRU bundle lets Skatteverket ingest your K4 data as a file.
What's in the bundle
INFO.SRU
Filer metadata — your personnummer, name, and address. You enter these once into the form on the converter page; they go straight into the file and are never sent anywhere else.
BLANKETTER.SRU
One or more K4-{year}P4 blocks containing your aggregated trades. Each block holds at most 9 rows (Skatteverket limit), so 30 securities = 4 blocks in one file. The pages are numbered automatically.
How to upload
- Click SRU Bundle on the converter, fill in your details, and download the
.zip. - Unzip — you'll get
INFO.SRUandBLANKETTER.SRU. - Open Skatteverket File Transfer and log in with BankID.
- Upload both files together. Skatteverket validates them and shows you a receipt with any errors.
- Then sign your tax return on Skatteverket's "Mina sidor" — uploaded attachments don't sign themselves.
ℹ️ About rounding: Skatteverket requires whole-SEK integers in SRU files. Each row is rounded so that sale − cost = gain − loss always holds exactly. This means the SRU per-row cost may differ by 1 SEK from the Excel export, but the totals match Trading 212's reported P/L.
🔒 Privacy: Your personnummer and address are read directly from the form, written to the file in your browser, and downloaded. Nothing is uploaded by this tool, persisted to disk, or stored in your browser. Closing the tab erases everything.

💰 Swedish Capital Gains Tax
Tax Rate
Capital gains from stocks and ETFs are taxed at 30%.
How It Works
- ✓ Profits from stock sales = Capital Gains
- ✓ Losses can be deducted from gains in the same year
- ✓ Net result is taxed at 30%
- ✓ Losses exceeding gains can offset other capital income
Example
Your trades:
- • Total gains: 10,000 SEK
- • Total losses: -1,000 SEK
- • Net result: 9,000 SEK
Tax calculation:
9,000 SEK × 30% = 2,700 SEK tax
📅 Important Deadlines
| Tax Year | Filing Method | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | Online | May 2, 2025 |
| 2024 | Paper | April 2, 2025 |
✓ Tip: File online - you get an extra month and it's easier!
🔧 Troubleshooting
"No sell transactions found"
Solutions:
- Check you exported the correct date range
- Make sure the file is from Trading 212
- If you only bought stocks (no sells), you don't need K4
Total doesn't match my calculation
This is normal:
- Trading 212 uses the average cost method
- Currency conversion timing may differ
- Broker fees are included
Solution: Use Trading 212's reported P/L - it's official and correct.
I have trades from multiple years
Solution: Export and process each year separately. File separate K4 forms for each tax year.
